Knee Exercises

1- I.C.E. Start by icing around the knee joint for a few minutes, especially if there is some swelling around the knee. Then simply tighten the muscle and relax it. Do this about 30 - 50 times, with a complete relaxation between each
contraction.

2- (+ 9) Stretch the quadricep muscles as shown in the diagram. Hold 15 seconds
Repeat.

3- (+ 10) Stretch the hamstring muscles in the following ways:

Hold 15 seconds.
Repeat.


4- Lying on your back, bend the knee you are not working with up. The knee you want to work is kept straight. Tighten the quadricep muscle and pull your foot forward; then raise your heel six inches off the floor. Hold this position for a slow count of three. Then lower your leg to the floor and relax.
Repeat.
